DUI Enforcement Unit Cpl. Carmel Maddox and Cpl. Carl Lyttle                                                                             In 2006, The Cheatham County Sheriffs Department established a special division which will focus on Driving Under The Influence Enforcement. This unit currently has 2 full time officers assigned to patrol Cheatham County in an attempt to locate intoxicated drivers, and to enforce other traffic related offenses. The 2 officers assigned to the unit are specially trained to install and inspect Child Safety Restraint Devices. The officers of this unit are specially trained to investigate traffic crashes and are responsible for working all crashes while on shift.. This unit is also responsible for conducting DUI Checkpoints at the discretion of The Sheriff.
