The Cheatham County Sheriffs Department Jail is in charge of housing both male and female inmates charged and convicted of a crime in Cheatham County. The Cheatham County jail has a capacity to house 120 inmates. There are a total of 23 corrections officers who work in the Cheatham County Jail on three separate shifts. These officers are in charge of intake, monitoring, and releasing all inmates who are processed through the Jail. Inmate Visitation hours have recently changed. Inmate's are allowed one visit a week. All visitation is on a first come first served basis, no reservations are accepted for visitation. Visitation Hours for Male inmates are Saturday and Sunday 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. - 3:30 P.M. Visitation Hours for Female inmates is Saturday's from 7:00 P.M.- 9:00 P.M. For a list of items allowed in the jail, click here You may send an inmate letters and packages to (Inmate Name) C/O Cheatham County Sheriffs Department Jail 200 Court Sq Ashland City, TN 37015 All incoming mail and packages, with the exception of legal mail, will be inspected for contraband prior to being delivered to the inmate. Legal Mail will be delivered unopened to the inmate, who will be required to open the items in the presence of an officer who will verify only that the package contains no contraband. The Cheatham County Sheriffs Department does not inspect, censor, or review any outgoing mail and therefore is not responsible for anything sent out by inmates housed in the facility.
